Journey from 238.5 lbs to 2:38:30 Running Blog at FastRunningBlog.Com Tue, 11 Dec 2018 16:40:26 FeedCreator 1.7.2 Sat, Mar 16, 2013 Ran from Runners Corner up the canyon and back. &nbsp;Good run, nice weather, though a little chilly for what I was wearing, but bearable. &nbsp;Had to stop a few times to fix the SI. &nbsp;Was good to see Toni and Spencer and run with them for a bit. &nbsp;Felt good for a lot of the run. &nbsp; Sat, 16 Mar 2013 06:00:00 Fri, Mar 15, 2013 Ran the BST in Orem with Wes. &nbsp;The trails are fantastic and the best weather of the year so far. &nbsp;Great run other than I had to stop and pop my SI joint back into place a few times during the run, which then takes another 100-200 yards after I put t back in for the muscles to wake back up and work properly, then got some good pushes going up and down on the way back. &nbsp;Felt great to be able to open up a bit, though I felt some high right adductor twinges and a little right hammy twinge, usually when the SI was out though. Fri, 15 Mar 2013 06:00:00 Sat, Mar 09, 2013 Ran with the group this morning. &nbsp;Had hip and low back issues the first few miles so had to stop and try to fix it while they did another 2+ miles before they turned around. &nbsp;Finally got them working and had a nice paced run back to the park. &nbsp;Headed back out for another 8 mile out and back. &nbsp;I hit mile 4 and stretched for a minutes. The guys came flying back a few minutes later and I started chasing Mike. &nbsp;Took a few hundred feet to get moving but felt decent and pushed down to 6:30ish range for the last 4. &nbsp;Felt great to get moving again. &nbsp;Hope things continue to function for a decent build back up before Boston. Sat, 09 Mar 2013 07:00:00 Fri, Mar 08, 2013 <p> Had to pop the right SI into place this morning, but got it in with the yoga block and ran 10 with Scott and Mike. &nbsp;Great morning for a run. &nbsp;So good to be able to run all week. :)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>instinct 1.5&nbsp;</p> Fri, 08 Mar 2013 07:00:00 Thu, Mar 07, 2013 <p> Was able to run with the group this morning, and actually kept up, of course it was the easy day, but still. &nbsp;Hip was out slightly, probably si, but still worked mostly. &nbsp;Most of the muscle pain from the last couple of days has dissipated, maybe due to a very long cold laser session yesterday, and some foam rolling last night. &nbsp;10 miles didn't use to be very far. &nbsp;</p><p>It was great to run outside with the group again. &nbsp;Been way too long, and too many months of running with pain, really happy to have turned the corner this week.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Kinvara 3&nbsp;</p> Thu, 07 Mar 2013 07:00:00 Wed, Mar 06, 2013 <p>8 miles on elliptical in 60 minutes, 1 mile around track in the am.</p><p>Did mostly elliptical this morning to try to give the TFL's a break, though it tightened up the left glute.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;Both TFL, very sore yesterday, and some today, iced</p><p>left glute, very tight during elliptical</p><p>right hip flexor getting tight again</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>PM &nbsp;6 mile trail run on the BST in Orem. &nbsp; It is hot outside. &nbsp;Trails were mostly awesome. &nbsp;A few muddy/snowy spots. &nbsp;</p><p>Left hip fell out while running, stopped at park and used some guys running board to put my hip back in. &nbsp;Glute immediately tightened up when it went out.&nbsp;</p> Wed, 06 Mar 2013 07:00:00 Tue, Mar 05, 2013 <p> Did 8.3 on the treadmill in 60 minutes with a .25 at 12 mph, which felt great to get the legs moving again. &nbsp;Did 2 miles on the track. &nbsp;10 minutes on the stairmaster. &nbsp;It feels so good to be able to run without the crazy pain in the pelvis. &nbsp;There is hope for a Boston finish. &nbsp;</p><p>List of troublespots.</p><p>Both Achilles, but more on Right</p><p>Left TFL</p><p>Both glute medius</p><p>right hamstring</p><p>right adductor</p><p>right inner quad</p><p>&nbsp;</p> Tue, 05 Mar 2013 07:00:00 Mon, Mar 04, 2013 Finally figured out a way to put my hips back in easily, which magically makes my hips from not working to working. &nbsp;Was able to run relatively pain free 8 miles in 60 minutes on the treadmill.
