Met Scott, Reed, Brandon, and Reed at Timp High school to run down to meet at runner's corner for their waffle run.  It was a nice 4 mile warm up.  We ran the next 9 or so at an avg 6:29 pace.  Ate waffles, ran like a 90 year old man for a mile until the body decided to start moving again.  Our fastest mile included a 6 min pace up a very steep long hill.  Was a nice push.

This concludes my first month without missing any days running (Sunday's excluded).  It feels nice to be consistent, and not hurt enough any day to just get out and run.

Good finish to the month Dan. That kind of consistency is what really matters.

Stringing together lots (months) of consistent "pretty good" weeks is a lot better than having 1-2 super awesome weeks and then dragging.

Nice job Dan. Your stomach should be able to handle anything if you can get used to digesting waffles in the middle of a run.

So much fun today Dan! You guys ran that push really strong. Fun stuff.

Jake, if I've learned anything from you and Sasha and the other top runners on the blog, and that it is just a very long, consistent effort of persistence and base mileage that makes all of the difference in outcome. I think I have seen where consistency has covered up some other weaknesses that I have that need to be worked on in order to keep progressing, well progressing quicker. Core, back, hamstrings, etc.

Fritz, waffles was easy, I've done 10 mile runs after chowing down giant bbq sandwiches, and managed to hold onto my lunch, though barely. I think eating and running is a skill anyone who ever wants to be an ultra runner needs to master. 2 waffles was just right to not get too full to keep running, which is one of my eating/running philosophies that I don't follow, since I like to eat to much and don't have much self control. But it is, never eat so much you can't go out and run afterwards. Sounds like a good rule of thumb, which I'm pretty sure I came up with after eating that bbq sandwhich and about hurling for 10 miles, maybe it was 12, don't remember now.

Brandon, thanks for joining us again today, it was a blast. Very strong run, trying to keep up with Scott and Matt through those pushing miles. That mile after the waffles was brutal trying to get the body working again after that long cool down, felt like a 90 year old man.
