Our stake had another 5k this morning which I ran instead of Sapper Joe 30k due to some tendonitis in the right knee, and needing it to heal up before Utah valley in 2 weeks.  I set out on a pace to get under 18:00 which I held until half way through the race when my pace began to decrease.  My knee didn't begin to get stiff which was a good sign and felt great at the end.  Always good to get a new PR which I did by 22 seconds.

Willow Park Stake?

How does it feel to be the fastest guy in the stake?

Congratulations on a PR! If you could be on pace for sub-18:00 half way through, and then lost it, this shows that sub-18:00 is in the cards after more training. This is exciting.

Thanks Sasha. I think that you are right. Losing more weight would certainly help, and actually doing some speedwork would certainly make it easier. I really appreciated all the advice you and Jeff gave me in February and wish I had more time to come down and run with you in the mornings, it certainly helped with knowledge and motivation. I think that within another six months I may be able to keep up on at least one of your 5:20 pace 1.5 mile pick ups.
