Decided to see how the knee would do today.   So got up at 4, out the door around 4:45 (I need to gather my stuff and get better organized the night before).  Went out on the JRT south to saratoga springs.  Made it to the end of the trail just past the golf course which turned out to be exactly 10 miles out.  Which also was just past the turnoff to Lake Mountain, which give me a good idea for about a 30 mile run from my house to the top of Lake Mountain and back, when I can do it with the same pair of shoes.  Maybe when the snow is gone on the road up there.

Anyway, the splits aren't anything to write home about, didn't do any sub 7 miles today, just kept a nice uneven pace, mostly in the 7's.  Averaged 7:33 in the AM 20, and 7:47 for the 6.3 in the PM.

The knee got a little sore around mile 10, and stayed a little sore most of the day.  After I got back from the 6.3, it suddenly went away, so keeping on the ice and hope it doesn't come back.

Wow, nice monday outing. I did a 26 mile out and back from my parents house in Lehi along the JRP then to the top of Lake Mountain and back. It is actually a great way to run some serious miles.

Thanks. I don't think I'll get that long run in anyone soon, but it is definitely on the docket.

One of these mornings we will run into each other. This morning (Wed) at 4 a.m. I was runing from Saratoga up the JRT. I run without a light, so it probably would be a great suprise to both of us. I'm a little timid about running there without a light because of the chance of running into a skunk. Monday I was lazy and slept in.

How far North do you typically run on the trail? I have run into so many skunks I can't keep track anymore. I hate those things, never get off the trail, just run right down the middle for a long time. I usually use a headlamp unless it is pretty bright with stars/moon/ufo's.

Lately I've just been going up to the Pioneer Crossing bridge which is the three-mile point from my house. Sometimes From 4-5 a.m. I'll do that and then go do the treadmill at the clubhouse at 5 a.m. by the pool.

It is exactly 5 miles to that bridge from my house, so when I do 7 out, I run by that clubhouse. Almost tried stopping there once for bathroom and water, but everyone looked so into their workouts I didn't want to bug them.
