Went to Antelope island.  Ran with jun, Brian, and mike?  maybe mike, have bad memory for names.  Anyway, it was awesome.  Very different than with dirt vs the snow I had last time 2 months ago.  My right quad has been getting sore the last few days and I was worried it would flare up today, and sure enough, it did at about mile 10.  And just got progressively worse the last 9 miles.  Was feeling very hobbled, though still keeping a 7:30 pace for most of the way back. Wish I knew the names of the trails better.  The other guys were heading out to buffolo knoll for another six but my quad wasn't going to make it so caught a ride back to my car with another guy who is running the 50k.  Looking forward to some tapering weeks, and recovering from this week, get rid of all these aches/pains/sore spots. Wish I could have made it another 2 miles to hit 100, but oh well.

Dude, HUGE week. I didn't know you were that close to hitting 100. You were really moving out there. Really glad I got to meet you. I run down in Lehi fairly often, it would be good to meet up again.

Wow, impressive week. Nice work!!!! Your body definitely deserves the tapering.

Good job DV. You guys probably came within a half mile of me at one point. Great day out there.

Thanks. Crockett, we got to the parking lot within five minutes of you leaving around 9ish. You were still within sight when we got there, but I guess you were just too fast for us today, or we just went different ways, or both. You had an incredible day of mileage to cap off an awesome week.

Jun, it was an awesome run, always good to run with people that can keep you moving at a good pace. I'm sure we will run again, hopefully next saturday, as long as I can get the quad to work by then. Let me know when you head this way for a run and I'll see if I can join you.

I kept pushing pretty hard until the Elephant Head junction. You guys did the out and back then, I did the loop first and backed off the pace. You guys went by me while I was on the out and back. Great week. Rest the quad. Usually takes at least a week.

From Dragonvulture on Sat, Mar 05, 2011 at 21:42:02 from 67.41.161.69

I hope it only takes a week. It will be nice once I get over these growing pains.

From crockett on Sat, Mar 05, 2011 at 21:55:06 from 71.36.86.94

When I have sore quads, I take time off until they don't hurt when I run. When they start hurting, I stop as soon as I can. Usually can boost the miles each day.

Thanks for the advice. I will try that.

Nice to meet you today. you are one heck of a runner! Take care of the aches and pains. BTW, you did not look like you were in pain as you flew up and down every hill that came your way.

From Dragonvulture on Sun, Mar 06, 2011 at 01:46:05 from 67.41.161.69

Thanks Kelli. It was a blast out there today. You are a great runner yourself. Just run more trails, you will get more comfortable on them as you go. They do take much more attention to every step so you don't break an ankle.

From Kelli on Sun, Mar 06, 2011 at 01:51:40 from 71.219.97.85

That is the truth. Marothoning takes absolutely no brain power, this is a much trickier form of running. You guys are seriously tough.

Good luck on Sat.
